Lessons for Next Year
Add lots of compost in the containers that did poorly. In fact replace about a half of soil in them now. Use this soil in next years compost. Add compost to all containers. Must have rich soil. However, with the amount of compost on the go there should be no need to buy anything.
Do a better job of replanting. Arrange containers ahead of time for lettuce, beets and radish for weekly planting.
From early tastings heritage plants have more flavour than modern varieties but are slower to crop. Start some modern varieties for quick return in early spring.
Plant zuccini etc. well apart. Containers are heavy and one zuchini leaf fill completly shade a neighbouring container.
